Wooden Spear is a decent low-level weapon to use in a wood-element deck, as it is easy to play and its effect limits the opponent's choices during the next turn. Proper use of the effect requires that the user knows the average Destiny of the opponent's deck, but that hardly matters since the effect only lasts one turn, and it's easy to pick out an alternate card to use even if the best card is blocked by this effect.
