The Tokyo Mega Float is a high-tech floating island designed to withstand water pressure and be unaffected by earthquakes. The project, started in 2006, entered the experimental stage in 2010.
The Tokyo Mega Float is 300 meters long, 60 meters wide, and 7 blocks high. It is planned to have three stories and cover an estimated 25 million square kilometers.
The Tokyo Mega Float is to become the center of technological industries. As part of its experimental stage, the Maritime Information Backup Center became the first business to move into it.
