The World R:X (Revision X) was a sequel to The World R:2 released in the year 2020. It is the game played by the characters of .hack//LINK. R:X is a handheld version of The World that runs on P-COM portable computers and utilizes the M3D headset. Like its predecessors, it incorporates a Guild system.

The original copy of The World R:X, authored by Jyotaro Amagi, is a black disc that seems to possess near supernatural powers. Using it, Tokio is able to enter The World physically.
