Mantis is more powerful the later it is in the game, when it's likely that the user will have more scored monsters. Mantis can get a maximum of 9 strength (for 6 scored water monsters), so it's best used later rather than sooner. Its play requirement is easily fulfilled in water-element decks that aid in playing cards hidden, so its major drawback is its fairly low Destiny.
